Quota International is growing into new countries. With an active network of more than 5,000 members in over 250 communities in 14 countries, Quotarians are on the move empowering women, children, the deaf, and hard of hearing. Celebrations in the Philippines, the United States, and now Trinidad & Tobago are being held for new Quota Clubs as they join the excitement creating sound beginnings for women and children around the world.
Tagaytay, Cavite, Philippines – In the most visited tourist destination in the Philippines, a new club will charter with 10 members on April 22nd, 2017, Quota International of Tagaytay. Thank you to Region 18 Director and Club Organizer Juliet Yasmin Al-Wassia and Club Organizer and Charter Club President Jocelyn Villadolid, Club Secretary Gerardo Alcantara, and Club Treasurer Josefina Bumanlag for leading this new club.
Quotarians in Tagaytay will empower women and children and the deaf and hard of hearing in the community of 20,000 relocatees through partnerships with the Department of Health, the Department of Labor and Employment, and the Disability Affairs Office. Their programs will include offering a livelihood program for women, breast cancer awareness and HIV prevention, and feeding, health and wellness programs for children. They will also be teaching responsible parenthood, and conducting skills training for the deaf, leadership training for the youth and medical and dental missions.
Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago – Quota International is expanding into a new country; Trinidad & Tobago. On April 21st, 2017, 8 new members will be welcomed into the Quota family with the chartering of Quota International of Trinidad & Tobago. The celebration will happen on the first day of their Region 10 meeting being held in Trinidad & Tobago.
Region 10 Director, Valentina Engelhardt worked closely with Club Organizer and Charter President Solange Kohinor and Club Secretary/Treasurer Jillian Jones-Smith to organize this new club. Their service initiatives will focus on developing educational programs for disadvantaged women and children and create awareness for hearing and speech in their community of more than 1 million people.
Son Pedro, Laguna, Philippines – On March 31, 2017, Quota International of Laguna, Philippines chartered with 8 members. Special thanks goes to the members starting this new club: Club Organizer and Charter Club President, Joseph Caingcoy (formerly a member of Quota International of Quezon City), Club Secretary, Dina Gotis and Club Treasurer, Zenaida Ortea, and Region 18 Director, Juliet Yasmin Al-Wassia.
These new Quotarians are passionate about helping underprivileged children, the deaf, abandoned elderly and all women. Programs in Laguna will focus on job generation and capability building, responsible parenthood, youth leadership and personal development, and health, wellness, therapy and literacy projects. Nixa, Missouri, United States – Quota International is excited to announce the return of Quotarian Twila Howland (formerly of Quota International of Monroe) and the charter of Quota International of the Ozarks with 7 new members, on January 20, 2017. With a mission that’s very dear to Twila, they will focus on educating families about how to live with hearing impaired persons, as well as coordinate a “Signing Santa” event this Christmas.
Twila Howland is serving as the Club Organizer and Charter Club President of Quota International of the Ozarks, with Lysa Munden and Judy Britton volunteering as Club Secretary and Club Treasurer. The efforts of these women, Region 9 Director, Kacee Kirschvink, and International Vice President, Carol Patin, are inspiring as more Quotarians are empowering women, children, the deaf, and hard of hearing around the world. Quota International of the Ozarks is partnering with Sound Advice Hearing Doctors in Springfield, Missouri. Metro Davao, Philippines – On December 14, 2016, Quota International of Metro Davao celebrated their charter, joining 250 other Quota Clubs in 13 countries. Under the leadership of Charter Club President Roy Cresencio R. Linao, Jr., Secretary Renelee M. Subsuban, and Treasurer Zandra H. Mandi, Quota International of Metro Davao’s eight members will create sound beginnings for disadvantaged women and children especially for children afflicted with cancer.

La Union, Philippines – Quota International of La Union chartered on October 8, 2016. Under the leadership of Charter Club President Jacqueline Chan, Secretary Charissa Paredes, and Treasurer Juvy Lyn Fonbuena, Quota International of La Union will create sound beginnings making it possible for women and the deaf and hard of hearing to pursue their dreams through university certification courses.
